Liz (the author) says: This is a great way to get Y7 students into essays. Debates can be quite heated. As a starting point you can get students to stand in certain parts of the room depending on whether they agree, disagree or are not sure about a statement. They then argue the point from where they are standing. A statement that always gets them debating is: "Teachers always do something about bullying."
